My first graphic novel, Podding Peas, tells the story of the women in my family.

Spanning over a century, across several continents, it mixes family photographs, archival documents such as maps and letters with fairytales (The Princess and the Pea, Alice in Wonderland) and art history.

I have collected all these elements in the past ten years, but after studying fine arts for my A-levels, I stopped drawing nearly entirely. When I became a mother I found myself with an urge to tell these stories I had been entrusted with. I picked up my materials and started drawing several nights a week, taking classes and talking about my project to whoever would listen.
